It’s our 35th anniversary, and what a fantastic year: we will celebrate by opening with Canadian superstars, Lorne Cardinal and Nicola Cavendish!
You’ll see Canadian classics, Pulitzer Prize winning plays, warm hearted comedies, and humour by artists who always love to make us laugh. And our 35th anniversary takes place at both the Pavilion AND the Sagebrush once more.
Welcome!
Jeremy Tow and Lori Marchand
Accessibility to high calibre professional theatre for our community has long been a priority for Western Canada Theatre. Unfortunately, certain financial realities have forced us to raise our ticket prices by more than just our small annual adjustment. We are offering our subscribers the very best ticket prices up until April 30, 2010. After that date, the HST will be applicable; the prices listed include the increase as a result of the added tax. Prior to the advent of HST, tickets were not subject to provincial tax. Also, we are in the unenviable position of having to announce our season without knowing what level of funding to expect from the province. You will note a number of co-productions, and over the course of the season, you will note an increase in our fundraising activities with the objective of executing this fine programming. If financial support is significantly less than what we have received over the past ten years, we will have to change, not the calibre but the specifics of this programming. However, the best possible way to ensure Kamloops and region continues to enjoy the very best from the Canadian and world stages is in your hands: Join us as a subscriber and catch every moment of this wonderful season. Thank you for your past, present and future support. We look forward to seeing you in the theatre!
